About three years ago, I bought this one-strap See by Chloé dress for my boyfriend’s graduation. At the time it was the singlemost expensive thing I’d ever bought – I think at around $375? Anyway, you can bet that if I spend that much on a dress, I will figure out a way to wear it year round, even if it’s only intended for summer. Here I’ve twisted up the bottom and matched it with a Helmut Lang blazer, some jeans, and black booties.

I really wish I could get better pictures of this jacket; these simply don’t do it justice.

Those textures look pretty awes in uniform dark tones! Is the Chloe dress black?

yup yup! it’s light in the first two pics to show the details, but it’s black! when they had these in stores they had the same dress in mustard yellow, but they sold out before i could get one. SO depressing. but black is more versatile I guess…

Your outfit is gorgeous! I wish so much I had the dress! I could never afford something from See by Chloé (considering I am 14 this is realistic but still :’() , unless it’s marked down at filene’s basement! I WANT TO RAID YOUR CLOSET!

Thank you so much! I actually have a really small closet, because it takes me so long to save up for each article of clothing! I know it’s hard at 14 (you are a very talented photographer for that age, by the way!) but it’s possible! Do what I did: take on lots of babysitting jobs~ ;) It’s the best way to make money – it’s easy, and parents will pay a TON!
I LOVE Filene’s basement, but sadly we don’t have one where I live!

i love your helmut lang blazer! aww i know, i think about fashion in an economic sense as well haha sometimes, it’s worth the investment in a few high quality items versus many low-quality ones.

Hi Catherine,
Thank you for your comment on my blog. I LOVE your site! You have amazing taste! I love that your site includes different categories – visual art and culinary art – which I enjoy tremendously myself. :)

I love the dress! I would wear it all the time too, if I had something that nice! It looks really versatile, I think it would look good with a cardigan and wool tights too… :) We’re friends on LJ btw, but I didn’t really know you had a blog until now, and I love it so far! want to exchange links?
