This past week, I reached a point in my oil painting class where I knew a few days in advance that I would not finish my assignment on time. I’m typically one of those students that will stay up through the night to finish a painting according to schedule, but this one took over nine hours for just the first half. When I presented an unfinished painting at critique, I was expecting a bad grade, or no grade, which I could pad by my previously good grades. Instead, I received this for the portion that was finished (above):

The unfinished portion:

As a treat to myself, I ordered this Free People oversized sweater, which was a lot more oversized in person than I expected, but I’m kinda digging the ridiculously slouchy cocoon shape nonetheless.

Sorry for the terrible-quality picture. I need to finish sewing my grey wool skirt for this! Also wish I had some red suedette pumps to counteract the boyishness of the sweater right now (in particular, these New Look red pumps, which seem to be permanently out-of-stock now.)

The picture is lovely; I’m glad your teacher was able to see through your not having finished it. And the sweater looks nice too, although I’d probably freeze in an off-the-shoulder sweater at this time of year!
