2010 in review

Compared with 2009, I felt considerably less productive in 2010. While I accomplished a few of my resolutions, I’ll be carrying many over with me into 2011. Before I launch myself into forward-thinking, however, I’d like to revisit a few of my posts and adventures from this past year!

January
Experimentation with my sister’s ƒ1.8 lens, also featured as sfgirlbybay’s Tuesday’s Girl / Matchy-matchy in my Orla Kiely dress with Miu Miu clutch / Sister’s H&M bow jacket / Christmas gift from my boyfriend / Agent Provocateur Indulgence

February
Death of Alexander McQueen / Modal & silk shirt by Alternative Apparel / Beautiful snowfall in Denton / Wishing for my red hair again / Watercolor paintings

March
St. Patrick’s Day (could not have been better) / Photos from the New Orleans market / Read a ton of Haruki Murakami / Took part in a Japanese Tea Ceremony / New Orleans architecture

April
Japanese Spring Festival / Yann Tiersen concert / Painted my favorite triptych to date

May
Nothing but painting in May

June
Trip to an alpaca farm / Homemade pizza / Feminine details / Invested a good 40 hours in a costume I never finished / Celebrated my birthday

July
Momo gets fixed! / Mark and I attend Anime Expo 2010 / Mark and I visit Santa Monica, CA

August
Bought a skirt from Zara / Yet again invested in an AP bra / Mourned the loss of summer / Took a weekend trip to the beautiful town of Marfa

September & October
Not much happened in September, but I did buy this Free People slip / Went as Marie Antoinette for Halloween / Mark went as one of the Monarch’s Henchmen / Went to the Japanese Fall Festival / Celebrated See Creature’s 1-year anniversary

November
“Mathematic” hand study / Watched entirely too much of “The Universe” / Painted in oils / Discovered a favorite cookie recipe

December
December just happened, and I’m too lazy to recap it! Click here to see all of my December posts or, really, just scroll down the page!

Now that that exhausting exercise is over, I’m ready to welcome the New Year with a few resolutions! More ART, more SAVING money, and hopefully a See Creatures shop within the next couple of months!*

*Other resolutions include: eating less fast food, buying fewer black clothes, and investing in a bed frame

SOMEHOW I missed your post about seeing Yann Teirsen in concert! I saw him in Ireland and was slightly disappointed that his new album is nothing like his previous albums. I would have been more than thrilled to see him play any of his other stuff- what, all six or seven albums. Anyway, I’m just glad I saw him in person play his stuff, hugged him, got his autograph, you know- the silly fan girl stuff.

Happy New Year! I hope you have a great 2011.
