My foray into web design began when I was about ten. When my friend (whose parents were both web designers) introduced me to the online anime community, it was then that I began experimenting with HTML and building 256-color layouts in Paint. Since then, what began as a hobby of building anime-centric websites has blossomed into a job for me. Although my primary passion is designing for myself, I design for local commercial projects as well.

Synergies http://www.cas.unt.edu/synergies/
Synergies is an online and print publication that reports on recent news and research within the University of North Texas‘ College of Arts & Sciences. For this particular website, the client asked for an online newsletter layout incorporating lots of color to reflect the theme of “Synergies” and the print version of the newsletter. Using a two-column layout, I attempted to design an online news website with high readability and room for plenty of photographs and pull-quotes. For this particular site, I did not design the logo.
Place to Be Properties http://www.placetobeproperties.com
Place to Be Properties is one of the largest student apartment leasing companies in Denton. I was presented with an existing logo and website coded on an ASP database, and asked to redesign the look of the site to cater to a younger, university-aged audience while retaining the basic structure of the site. For this project, I also designed two interactive Flash maps listing property locations in both Denton and San Marcos, TX.
University of North Texas Libraries http://www.library.unt.edu
While working for the University of North Texas libraries, I was asked to design a logo and a flexible, simple wireframe layout for what would become the present UNT Libraries website. During this time, I also helped migrate the existing UNT Library website over to a Drupal content management system (CMS).
48 States of Purpose http://www.48sop.com
48 States of Purpose is Anne Wishart’s year-long project to travel to the contiguous 48 United States, performing works of charity. For this website, I was comissioned to build a blog, flash introduction, and do some illustration.
KaitouTV, Haute Parleur (no longer active)
Before See Creatures, my personal portfolio and blog were housed at KaitouTV, and I ran a fashion blog at the same domain called Haute Parleur. They both employed WordPress (with customized themes), and featured flash, photography, and illustration by me.
