As the web architecture student assistant of the University of North Texas’ College of Arts and Sciences, part of my biggest task has been to assist in migrating all of our department websites – around twenty – over to Drupal, a popular content management system. In addition to importing content and designing themes, we helped departments reorganize their content for search engine optimization and improved readability. Furthermore, we installed and coded modules and custom views to fit the specific needs of each department. Such customizations included faculty directories, slideshows, events calendars, and even a small scholarly database.
